After maybe their worst game of the season – that dreary loss to Philadelphia Wednesday – the Habs played what many – including CTV’s Brian Wilde – were calling the team’s best game of the season. And who am I to argue with the Wilde Man?
It certainly was an epic night for the Canadiens, who beat the Hawks 2-1 in overtime. Carey Price was extraordinary, Andrei Markov looked like he was back in his prime with two goals and Tomas Plekanec was the unsung hero of the soiree, effectively shutting down Jonathan Toews (and getting 11 shots on goal himself along the way!).
How good a night was it for Les Boys? Even George Parros contributed, a rare event indeed, serving as a perfect screen on Markov’s first marker.
But the highlight reel of the night goes to the other guys all the same – check out Chateauguay boy Corey Crawford’s nutsoid toe save on Lars Eller.
